SFU Hockey BCIHL Team Announces Changes to Coaching Staff

The SFU Hockey BCIHL team is announcing changes to the coaching staff. Guido Lamberti-Charles takes over head coaching duties from Mark Soares effective immediately, and has begun developing the roster ahead of the 2025/26 BCIHL season.

With over 25 years of international coaching experience—from U15 development to the professional level—Coach Lamberti-Charles brings a wealth of knowledge, structure, and passion to the program.

Joining Coach Lamberti-Charles is Jim Rogers, our new Assistant Coach and Hockey Adviser. Jim offers over 40 years of hockey expertise, having served as a GM professionally in Europe, an NHL Central Scouting member, a Head Scout and Director of Player Development in the DEL (Germany), and a key scout for WHL and BCHL teams.

With the final touches being added to the 2025/26 BCIHL schedule, fans can expect an announcement in the coming weeks regarding BCIHL pre-season, regular season and championship dates and venues.

The SFU Hockey BCIHL team provides players with the opportunity to pursue a top-tier post-secondary education while continuing to compete at a high level. The team actively recruiting driven student-athletes from Canadian Junior leagues and elite programs across North America and Europe who are passionate about continuing their development on and off the ice.
