Goaltender Steven Bacovsky Joins Red Leafs

BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs Hockey program has added goaltender Steven Bacovsky to the 2025.26 roster.

The Calgary, AB native joins the Red Leafs for his fourth year of college hockey experience, spending the 2023 and 2024 seasons with the NCAA’s Merrimack College and the 2025 season with Carleton University, holding an 8-6-1 record and a .879 sv% with the Carleton Ravens. The 6’1” netminder says his focus is on staying calm in the net while still able to make the athletic saves needed.

Bacovsky will join SFU’s Criminology program off the ice, and his focus this season will be to work towards completing his degree while improving his on-ice game.
