GAMEDAY | SFU Red Leafs at Colorado College Tigers 01.17.26

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – SFU heads to Colorado to face their closest NCAA D1 counterpart in the Colorado College Tigers.

In the shortest trip of the year, SFU is in Colorado Springs for their second ever matchup against the Colorado College Tigers and first since October of 2023.

Long breaks between the last three games has made it a challenge for the Red Leafs to build momentum, but just a week off between the team’s outing in Boston and this weekend bodes will for the team to get back into the groove and put together a solid performance.

The Tigers on the other side of the ice own a 9-10-3 record this year, going 1-4-2 in their last 7 games with a combined score of 17-23 and their only win coming in overtime. Colorado College has 6 current NHL draft picks on their active roster, including Surrey, BC’s Thomas Mrsic (St. Louis Blues, 2024 4th round) and Wilson Björk (Vancouver Canucks, 2025 5th round).
