Burnaby, BC – The Simon Fraser University Men’s Hockey team is proud to announce the launch of its new website – sfuhockey.com – that is the home for all news, stats, scores and information about SFU Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams. Fans will find a sleek new look and modern user interfaces to follow along with all the accomplishments and accolades of SFU Clan student hockey players.
The main focus of the website is content such as high quality photos, video highlights, and news updates – all readily available for fans at any time. The new site also shows off the high quality content the team’s creative partners like Garrett and Damon James Photography as well as Albert Art Creative can deliver.
“We are extremely excited about the unique new home SFU Hockey fans and supporters now have to follow the great achievements of our student-athletes,” said SFU Men’s Hockey Director of Hockey Operations Chris Munshaw. “It enables SFU’s two hockey programs to match the excellence that the student-athletes are already exhibiting by promoting them in way like never before. It also lets us build upon our previous site by adding more content while allowing us to take more advantage of the latest multimedia platforms that our fans use to follow the Clan.”
The new website also gives the men’s and women’s teams, plus users, added support for mobile devices, analytics, and eCommerce. As SFU Hockey continues to grow, so are the number of contributors, staff, and volunteers, and a lot of the business tools used for those groups are tied to the website.
SFU Men’s Hockey was re-established in 2004 and competes in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL). The program focuses on competition, academics, and community service as its core values. Last year, SFU placed second in BCIHL standings while also earning strong results in exhibition games against NCAA Division 1, CIS, and ACAC opponents.
