BURNABY, BC — SFU Hockey is proud to announce Prince George Spruce Kings forward Hunor Torzsok as the newest member of the 2021/22 recruiting class.
“I would describe myself as a two way power forward that’s good down low and likes to finish pucks around the net,” said the 6’2”, 209 lb forward. “My goals this season are to try and be an impact player and be reliable in all situations.”
Torzsok played a big part on a Spruce Kings team that earned the top spot in the Chilliwack pod in the 2020/21 BCHL season, taking a 14-5-0-1 record against the Chilliwack Chiefs and Merritt Centennials.
He also brings with him WHL experience, having suited up 37 games for his hometown team, the Vancouver Giants, as well as playing across the border with the Everett Silvertips. Torzsok also spent time with the Nanaimo Clippers and Merritt Centennials of the BCHL and the Estevan Bruins of the SJHL.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, Torzsok calls nearby Cloverdale home, and intends to study criminology at SFU.
“He’s an old school player, he likes to go to the net and be that net front presence. He’s got that old school mentality to him,” said SFU head coach Mark Coletta. “When he gets the puck on his stick down low, it’s tough to get the puck off. I think he’s gonna be a big addition for us.”
