CHENEY, WA — The SFU Men’s Hockey Team plays game one of two game eastern road trip tonight against Eastern Washington, before taking on Selkirk College tomorrow night.
Former WHL forward Nic Holowko will make his debut this weekend for the Clan. The 20-year old 6’1 forward logged 248 WHL games with the Seattle Thunderbirds, Prince Albert Raiders, Kamloops Blazers, and Prince George Cougars, and also played brief stint with the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL.
“He’s got some good size, he’s been around major junior for a long time, so we’re looking for him to be an impact guy, and hopefully he helps out on the scoresheet as well,” said head coach Mark Coletta.
Forwards Tim Chow, Pavlo Zerebecky, and defenceman Zack Klebaum are not expected to suit up this weekend, but look to return next week. Chow has missed the three previous games, while Klebaum hasn’t played since the Christmas break.
Lyndon Stanwood is expected to get the start in net against Eastern Washington tonight.
“We’ll take it one game at a time, see how he feels and he’s played a lot of hockey, so we want to make sure he’s healthy going down the stretch,” said Coletta.
Puck drop is at 7:30 pm tonight and 7 pm tomorrow night. Both games will be broadcast on Hockey TV.
