The SFU Men’s Hockey club is pleased to announce a partnership with the Burnaby Mountain Capitals Female Hockey Team. The Capitals, run by MC High Performance Training Owner/Director Milton Chan, will enter the South Coast Women’s Hockey League for the 2022/23 season. The newly minted program is now recruiting young women with experience playing at the U18AAA level or higher, and will play out of Planet Ice Coquitlam for their inaugural season.
“I am super excited to create another opportunity for female players looking to continue playing hockey at a high level,” says Chan. “We’re extremely thankful to have SFU Hockey as one of our big supporters for the upcoming season!”
The Capitals will hold identification skates on August 27th, 28th & 29th, anyone interested in taking part should visit www.burnabymountaincapitals.com for more information.
“We’re thrilled to support a women’s program in our neck of the woods, the interest in women’s hockey is steadily increasing and we’d love to see it succeed long term,” says SFU Head Coach Mark Coletta. “We’re exploring ways in which we can work with the Capitals and help them gain traction in the community.”
