SFU Hockey is pleased to announce a commitment for the 2019/20 BCIHL season from former North Vancouver Wolf Pack forward Justin Lee.
Lee, who also grew up in North Vancouver, totaled 116 points in 111 PJHL games, culminating in an impressive 2018/19 campaign (21G, 37A in 36 games) in which he captained the Wolf Pack to a league championship with 20 points and 0 PIMs in 14 playoff games. Lee, who played 3 seasons of CSSHL hockey with the Burnaby Winter Club prior to junior, would also be named the PJHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player in 2019.
The speedy two-way forward will enter the SFU Business Administration program and hopes to make an immediate impact with the SFU squad.
“My goal is to help SFU win a championship,” says Lee rather bluntly. He goes on to describe how his game is based around speed and likes to use that to his advantage.
Lee joins former Wolf Pack teammate Mitch Ledyard on the SFU roster, and is the fifth recruit announced this offseason following former Surrey Eagles (BCHL) captain Ty Westgard, Jordan Dawson, Matt Krawiec and Richmond Sockeyes (PJHL) Assistant Captain Jake Keremidschieff.
SFU takes on TWU and UBC for the 2019 Captain’s Cup in September prior to kicking off the 2019/20 BCIHL season in October.
Additional announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
