SFU is pleased to announce a commitment for the 2019/20 BCIHL season from former Edmonton Oil King (WHL) and Nanaimo Clipper (BCHL) Jordan Dawson.
Dawson spent parts of 4 seasons with the Oil Kings before landing in Langley to finish the 2017/18 season with the Rivermen. The Delta BC native would be traded to the Nanaimo Clippers (BCHL) for the 2018/19 season and appeared in 41 games, putting up 5 points in the regular season and 1 in the playoffs. Dawson is a physical defenceman, standing 6’3″ and weighing 197 lbs. With 67 WHL and 71 BCHL games on his resume, Dawson brings a strong resume including immediate size and grit to the SFU lineup. Dawson also served as an alternate captain in his final year of junior with the Clippers.
Dawson joins Ty Westgard (Coquitlam Express, BCHL), Jake Keremidschieff (Richmond Sockeyes, PIJHL), and Matt Krawiec (Red Lake Miners) in the 2019 SFU recruiting class.
Additional announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
