BURNABY, BC — After missing eight players from the lineup against Eastern Washington due to injury, the SFU Men’s Hockey Team are expecting a few players to slot back in this Saturday for the home opener.
Forward Spencer Unger is expected to play in Saturday’s contest after missing the first two games of the season. Defenceman Zack Klebaum and forward Tim Chow, who played Friday but not Saturday, are “probable” to return.
Forwards Jaret Babych and Mac Colisamone are “still weeks away” according to head coach Mark Coletta. Forward Cam Bertsch and defenceman Dustin Cave will not play this weekend.
“We wait, we want to make sure they’re healthy to play before we put them in a lineup,” said Coletta. “It [is unfortunate] that there’s injuries this early in the season, [. . . ] but it’ll give more playing time to some guys and put them in situations they wouldn’t normally be in.”
Lyndon Stanwood is slated to start in net.
