PREVIEW | Red Leafs take lessons from Michigan into Colorado Springs

by Jake Friedrich

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Simon Fraser University Red Leafs are right back at it, taking on the Colorado College Tigers in Colorado Springs.

The Non-Conference roster is in Colorado Springs this weekend to take on the Colorado College Tigers, who were knocked out of the NCHC final four last season.

“This will be our hardest game this year,” said defenceman Jimmy Darby, who played against the Tigers last season while with the Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves, “these guys have something to prove.”

The Tigers, a program that has produced NHL talent including Jayden Schwartz (STL), Jaccob Slavin (CAR), and Canucks alumni Doug Lidster, received 13 votes in the USCHO pre-season poll; the same poll that ranked Michigan 5th in the nation.

Back in BC, the BCIHL squad will kick off their regular season campaign against the Okanagan Lakers in Kelowna.
