The SFU Men's Ice Hockey Team is currently seeking candidates to fill the following positions. All volunteers will be reimbursed for travel costs, receive two free season tickets, and have access to exclusive SFU Hockey merchandise. Volunteer positions are intended to lead into other job opportunities within the organization.
Medical Trainer
SFU Men's Hockey is looking for first-aid certified volunteers to attend home and away games with the team. You will work closely with our team chiropractors, players, and coaching staff. No physiotherapy training is required, this position is primarily for first-aid attendees. This is a fast-paced and exciting atmosphere, and our athletes compete at an extremely high level.
Campus Liaison Officer
SFU Men's Hockey is looking for a Campus Liaison Officer to assist the team in organization and execution of events on any of the SFU campuses. Interact with fans on campus while representing SFU Hockey in a professional manner. Assist in any hockey-related tasks on campus (ie. delivery of tickets, representing the team at clubs days, etc). This is an opportunty for anyone interested in public relations, promitions, or event planning. You will become the face of SFU Hockey on campus and an integral part of our promotional efforts there.
Team Writer/Producer
SFU Men's Hockey is looking for a Team Writer/Producer to follow the team's progress throughout the season and produce written articles and blog posts. Content would include interviews, news, any interesting storylines that arise throughout the season. This is a flexible volunteer position geared towards someone looking for experience in Sports Journalism and Marketing. You will have the opportunity to 'brand' your work as a member of the SFU Hockey team, and leverage many of the promotional tools within the organization to promote your writing.
Play by Play Announcer
SFU Men's Hockey is looking for volunteers with experience in sports broadcasting as a play by play announcer. We offer flexible experience within a growing organization and a very high level of competition, as well as a professional broadcast booth and equipment. All home games have a live video & audio broadcast online via FASTHockey.com. For the right candidate, this may become an opportunity to work in a paid position on a more permanent basis.
