The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League will play a 25 game schedule for the 2017/18 season, following the entry of Vancouver Island University into the league. Teams will play an alternating 13 home game / 12 away game split over the next two season.

The playoffs will once again span two series over two weeks, with the top four teams each making the cut. Located in Nanaimo, VIU enters the league as the BCIHL’s 6th team.
